Issue: Marathon Email Accounts Temporarily Blacklisted

Marathon wishes to advise all e-mail hosting customers that e-mails sent from their Marathon e-mail account to Yahoo or Comcast addresses may bounce due to a temporary blacklisting of our e-mail server by those services.

This is a temporary situation. Marathon has already taken the necessary steps to resolve any issues with both Yahoo and Comcast and will keep you informed. Please be aware however that this may take up to one week.

E-mail hosting providers can become blacklisted when a customer's computer is infected with a virus or when customers are using a mass mailing software application. It is imperative that you routinely scan your computers for viruses so that an issue such as this does not recur.

Marathon is aware of the situation and is working to correct this as soon as possible.

If this is a feature that you would like to maintain but have not registered for, please give one of our Marathon Internet Representatives a call and they can sign you up for an annual fee of $49.

New Hosting Benefit!

SPAM Filter Now a Benefit of Hosting

It shouldn't come as any surprise that email has become the communications tool of choice for business owners worldwide. However, an increasing amount of SPAM and relentless virus attacks can wreak havoc for studios. Marathon now offers relief from these time-wasting annoyances through SPAM Filter, a FREE benefit of Marathon hosting services.

  • Block unwanted email and then quarantine, tag, or deliver to your in-box based on your preferences.
  • SPAM filter also provides comprehensive protection against the most current email-borne threats that can spread viruses if left unprotected.
  • Block forged or "spoofed" sender addresses on unsolicited email and protect yourself from phishing schemes which are often used to gather confidential information.
  • All attachments are scanned and any spy ware executables are detected and eliminated immediately.

How Does it Work?

Marathon's SPAM filter sits between the Internet and your inbox. Messages identified as SPAM will contain *****SPAM***** in the subject line. Email programs such as Outlook Express, Mail, and Thunderbird allow automatic filtering of messages. For more information on setting up your email software to filter messages marked as SPAM, please visit the SPAM filter section. Please call 800-381-8256 if you require further assistance.
